GIANT/MARTIN’S, Unilever and Johnson & Johnson will make donation to local YMCA for every vaccination administered

Carlisle, PA – You can get your flu shot, help your community and save on groceries at all GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets in-store pharmacies. Vaccinations are administered by GIANT/MARTIN’S in-store pharmacists and no appointment is needed.

In addition to keeping customers healthy, flu shots administered by GIANT/MARTIN’S will help support local YMCAs. For every flu shot, GIANT/MARTIN’S, Unilever and Johnson & Johnson, will make a donation to benefit youth development and healthy living initiatives* at local YMCAs.

Customers who get flu shots will also receive a free coupon book with more than $40 in savings.

“The best way to manage flu is to prevent it through a vaccination,” said Leigh Shirley, GIANT/MARTIN’S director of pharmacy. “Because flu viruses change from year to year, the vaccine is reformulated to provide immunity against seasonal flu strains. So even if you got a flu shot last year, you still need to get vaccinated this year.”

GIANT/MARTIN’S pharmacies are able to bill most major insurance plans, including Medicare. Many of these insurance plans cover flu shots with a zero copay. Standard flu shots are available, as well as other flu vaccinations, including the “quad” and high dose vaccines. For more information, or to schedule an onsite flu clinic for your office, please call 800-950-4678.

*Johnson and Johnson Consumer, Inc. and Unilever together will donate $0.75 for each flu shot received between 8/1/2015 and 2/28/2016, with a minimum donation of $55,000 and maximum of $150,000, to the YMCA. Additionally, GIANT/MARTIN’S will donate $5,000. For more information about the YMCA, please visit
