Rabiya Bower, RD, LDN assists customers in the Exton and Flourtown stores

Carlisle, PA – Rabyia Bower, RD, LDN, in-store nutritionist at the Exton and Flourtown GIANT Food Stores was named the first place winner of Today’s Dietitian “Share Your RD Story” contest. In her essay, Bower wrote about her experience of being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child and how that shaped her career to help and inspire others to live better through nutrition education. She also shared her story at Today’s Dietitian 2015 Spring Symposium held recently in Las Vegas, NV.

“I choose dietetics as a career because I know, from first-hand experience, how impactful a registered dietitian can be. Whether it’s for weight loss, food allergies, disease management or healthy meal planning, customers are looking for answers and need a health navigator to lead them to the best choices,” said Bower. “As a GIANT nutritionist, I’m able to provide clarity at the most critical moment – right in the grocery aisle.”

In her role as a GIANT in-store nutritionist, Bower is available at both the Exton GIANT located at 141E. Swedesford Road and the Flourtown GIANT at 1874 Bethlehem Pike to assist customers with questions on healthy eating, provide one-on-one nutrition consultations and teach health-related classes for both adults and kids. For more information or to schedule a consultation, visit the GIANT Nutritionist website.
