Popular with customers, A+ School Rewards support school programs

Carlisle, PA – GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets announced today a $3 million donation to 2,057 public and private schools through its A+ School Rewards program for the 2013-2014 school year. Since the program launched in 2005, more than $19 million has been donated to local schools throughout participating markets in the four states GIANT/MARTIN’S operates.

GIANT/MARTIN’S A+ School Rewards program allows local schools to earn cash for technology, scholarships, school programs, field trips, playgrounds, and other educational needs. After customers had designated the school(s) of their choice, A+ School Rewards points accrued with each purchase made using a BonusCard from October 6, 2013 through March 22, 2014.

“Thank you to all of our customers and local schools who took a few moments to sign up for our popular school fundraiser and shopped with their BonusCard,” said Tom Lenkevich, president, GIANT/MARTIN’S. “Year after year, we are gratified by the strong response. Schools just love what they can do with their A+ School Rewards!”
