MARTIN’S FOOD MARKETS INTRODUCES RX TIMER CAPS TO PHARMACIES
Carlisle, PA – To encourage appropriate use of prescription medication, MARTIN’S Food Markets has introduced Rx Timer Cap, an electronic cap that is an alternative to the traditional prescription medication caps, at all of its Richmond area in-store pharmacies. Containing a built-in LCD timer, Rx Timer Cap works like a stopwatch counting up the hours and minutes since a patient last opened the container and took their medication. There are no alarms to program or buttons to press and it works with any prescription medication.
While the prescription label already tells patients how often they should take their medication, MARTIN’S new Rx Timer Cap lets them know exactly how long it has been since their last dose. For example, every time you open the cap, the timer resets to zero. When you close the cap, the timer automatically begins counting up the hours and minutes since you last took your medication.
According to the World Health Organization, the #1 problem in health care today is patients taking their medications as directed. Poor medication adherence can lead to deteriorating health, further medical treatment and potentially unnecessary hospitalization.
“With our customers’ busy lifestyles, it can be easy to forget how long it has been since you last took your medication,” said Leigh Shirley, director of pharmacy. “Our new Rx Timer Cap takes the guesswork out of taking your medications on time.”
For a limited time, MARTIN’S is offering one free Rx Timer Cap to its pharmacy customers via an in-store coupon promotion. Rx Timer Cap fits standard prescription containers and is available with either child-resistant closures or as an easy twist-off for seniors. If customers wish to purchase more than one cap to meet their prescription medication needs, the cost per cap is $2.99. Customers may still receive traditional cap(s) on their prescriptions at no charge. For more information on the Rx Timer Cap or any of MARTIN’S pharmacy offerings, please visit www.martinsfoods.com.
