MARTIN’S ALERTS CUSTOMERS TO VOLUNTARY RECALL UKROP’S GINGERBREAD MEN COOKIES
Carlisle, PA – MARTIN’S Food Markets, following a recall by Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods LLC announced it removed from sale Ukrop’s Gingerbread Men Cookies because the item contains milk, an allergen, which is not declared on the list of ingredients. The product is safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a milk allergy.
The following product is included in this recall:
- Ukrop’s Gingerbread Man Cookies, 2 oz., UPC 72251591109, sell-by date between 11/8/12 and 12/16/12.
To date, MARTIN’S has received no reports of illness, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this project. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to MARTIN’S for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
