180 cu in (2.95 cu dm). Old no. 7 brand. We’ve always made Jack Daniel’s the way Jack himself prescribed it back in 1866. And part of that recipe includes a fair amount of patience. We aren’t just putting our whiskey into barrels. We entrust it to them. Our whiskey will spend a good amount of time in a barrel, drawing from it all of its rich amber color and much of its distinctive flavor. Barrels are such a big part of our whiskey’s character which is why we proudly age our whiskey in new, handcrafted white oak barrels, the same way we’ve been doing for more than 150 years. During the aging process, whiskey is drawn in and out of the barrel, giving it its distinctive color and flavor. A portion of whiskey remains in the wood after the barrels are emptied. Some of these barrels are made into Jack Daniel's Whiskey Barrel Smoking Chips. These wood chips add the distinct flavor of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey to all the foods cooked on your gas grill, charcoal grill, or smoker.
