Directions
Melting Instructions: Microwave: Remove candy coating from film. Microwave on medium (50% power) for 2 minutes. Stir well. Microwave on medium (50% power) for additional 15-seconds intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth. Candy coating retains its original shape while melting until stirred. Do not overheat. Do not microwave on high. Overheating will cause scorching and thickening so product is unusable. Stovetop: Remove candy coating from film and tray. Place coating in heavy-bottomed saucepan. Melt over very low heat about 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until smooth. Appliances vary. Cooking times are approximate. Please Note: Candy coating treats are ready in minutes if placed in refrigerator or freezer. To thin, add 1 tablespoon or more of solid vegetable shortening and stir until smooth. Do not add water, milk, oil, margarine, or butter to thin. Candy coating may be colored using oil-based or powdered food colorings and may be flavored using oil-based flavoring. Store unopened package in a coll, dry place (60 degrees - 70 degrees F). If opened, store in airtight container. Overheating will cause product to scorch or caramelize. Do not overheat. Candy coating retains its original shape while melting until stirred. Moisture causes candy coating to become lumpy or lard. Always use dry utensils and pat fruit dry before dipping.
