You Will Need: 1 lb breakfast sausage. 2 cups water. 1/2 Tsp salt, 2/3 milk for topping. 1. Cook ground meat in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up and stirring. Stir in water and salt. Gently stir in hashbrowns. Heat to boiling over high heat. 2. Cover Once boiling point is reached, reduce heat to medium. Spread mixture, evenly cook for 10 minutes until the water is absorbed and the bottom is golden brown. Stir for even browning. While hashbrowns are cooking, stir milk and topping mix in a separate bowl with a whisk or fork. Set aside to thicken. 3. Turn hashbrown mixture over in sections. Spread evenly; press firmly. Increase heat to medium-high, cook 2-4 minutes until bottom is golden brown, stirring occasionally. 4. Topping Remove skillet from heat. Add topping. For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Refrigerate leftovers. Turn this flavor up! Stir in chopped green bell peppers just before simmering. Stir in cooked scrambled eggs just before serving. For extra heat, serve with hot sauce.
