GIANT continues 95th anniversary celebrations with #oneGIANTthanks
to its community partners

CARLISLE, Pa., November 27, 2018 - In honor of Giving Tuesday, and as part of an ongoing celebration of its 95 years of serving its customers and communities, GIANT Food Stores is donating $20,000 to the Easton Area Community Center (EACC), of Easton, Pa., to help fund its children's programming as well as providing hands-on volunteer service.

GIANT will present the donation to Easton Area Community Center Board President Maurice Luker III, today at 10:30 a.m. at the Easton Area Community Center, located at 901 Washington Street in Easton. Easton Mayor Sal Panto and State Rep. Robert Freeman will also be in attendance to help commemorate this occasion.

"While supporting the communities we serve has been a part of GIANT's culture for 95 years, we're excited to be able to do something special for the Easton Area Community Center this Giving Tuesday," said Matt Simon, vice president of marketing, GIANT Food Stores. "For more than 60 years the Easton Area Community Center has provided services for the youth and families in the area. With funding being more critical now than ever, we are proud to publicly thank and help this wonderful organization continue serving the Easton community."

"As a grass-roots organization well into our seventh decade, our partnership with GIANT during this time of gratitude allows the Easton Area Community Center to further our mission to strengthen and serve our local community and our community's future-its children," said Maurice Luker III, board president, Easton Area Community Center.

GIANT associates will also be on-site volunteering with book sorting and labeling for the Community Center's Cops 'n' Kids Reading Room as well as organizing and restocking the Pantry Closet in the Main Community Room.

Most recently, GIANT donated hundreds of turkeys to ProJeCt of Easton and the Salvation Army of Easton as part of GIANT's Season of Sharing volunteer initiative. GIANT customers also donated $13,610 to ProJeCt of Easton through the grocer's 2018 in-store "Bag Hunger" Campaign.
